Rotary Donates to Beta Sigma Phi’s Christmas Fund

Posted

McKENZIE — McKenzie Rotary Club, trustees of the Fannie Baxter Moore Trust Fund, donated $1,500 to Beta Sigma Phi’s annual Angel Tree project.

Pictured is Ed Perkins, chairman of the Moore Fund, telling fellow Rotarians about the annual donation to Beta Sigma Phi. Also pictured is Letha Basford, a member of Beta Sigma Phi accepting the donation, along with other Moore Fund trustees, Keith Herris and Ed Dillon.

Perkins said the local sorority hosts the annual Christmas drive to purchase gifts for the needy, underprivileged and disadvantaged children of McKenzie. They know toys can make a real difference in the lives of children when they experience Christmas joy where there would be none otherwise.

“We admire this ‘service above self’ ministry that you provide and therefore, we would like to participate with you by presenting this $1,500 check to help assist you and these very special children,” said Perkins of the donation.
