McKENZIE (February 15) — The trustees of the Fannie Baxter Moore Fund, a trust administered by the McKenzie Rotary Club, donated $1,000 to Project Help, a fund to assist customers of Carroll County Electric who find themselves unable to pay their utility bill. The trust fund also donated $1,300 to Carroll County United Neighbors, located in McKenzie.

The trust requires the funds be used to provide financial assistance to ‘worthy, needy’ people in McKenzie. Carroll County Electric will identify the McKenzie recipients of the Moore Fund money. Tennessee Valley Authority will match the funds.

Project Help provides relief on countians’ electric bill in a partnership with Tennessee Valley Authority and many local donors, who contribute through the partner non-profit agency, Huntingdon Ministerial Alliance.

Persons can apply through the Electric Department’s Project Help.

Carroll County United Neighbors assists persons in need by providing a food pantry, free or low cost clothing, and other assistance. The funds will be used to hire part-time help at the office.
