Domestic Assault — According to a report made by Deputy Angel Furr, on November 1, deputies were dispatched to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office dispatch lobby in reference to a female subject wanting to file a report for a domestic that happened sometime the night before. The victim advised that her husband kept getting physical and she wanted to leave. She said it had been going on for months, but she had never reached out for help before but had photo proof. James Mitchell, 44, of McKenzie, was arrested for domestic assault.
Fled from Police, Indecent Exposure — On November 5, Deputy Sunny Crews-Sherwood, was dispatched to Jax Road for an indecent exposure call. The subject, Danny Jones, 54, of Atwood, said he had light colored pants on and that’s what the neighbor saw. The neighbor who called the Sheriff’s Department said that Danny was walking around naked and sitting in a chair in his driveway. This was discovered by her 14-year-old daughter and she also captured this on video. Mr. Jones got into his vehicle and left the scene. He fled until he ran into a ditch and told deputies he would shoot them; so, he was tased and gained control of by the police and transported to Carroll County Jail.
Aggravated Assault — According to a report made by Deputy Ryan Hamilton on November 6, a female came to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office wanting to report a domestic assault. She stated that she had woken up and Michael Custer, 23, of Trezevant, was playing video games and having an argument with an unknown individual online and became agitated that she wasn’t backing him in the argument, so she left the room. Custer then came up behind her and attacked her by striking her and pulling her to the ground and then placing his hands around her throat. The victim stated that she had to wait until Custer fell asleep to leave the house to come report the assault.
