Aggravated Criminal Trespass/ Public Intoxication — According to a report by Deputy Heather Townes on May 9, Christopher McCaslin, 44, of Cedar Grove, drove his all-terrain vehicle where he stopped in a yard and got off, began to beat on the front door of the home violently, and was hitting the wall with the porch swing. The victim was alone at the time, and it frightened her. She called 911 for help and described the situation above. Townes found Christopher down the road and he advised he didn’t think anyone was home when he was acting that way in the victim’s yard. He had slurred speech, a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on him, and had a machete. He was arrested and transported to jail.
Criminal Impersonation — According to a report by Deputy Alex Sherwood on May 11, it was reported that Joseph Rogers, 45, of Cedar Grove, sent his ex-wife’s ex-husband, Edward Robinson, who is a Certified Law Enforcement Officer for Dyersburg State Community College, a text message representing himself as Carroll County Sheriff’s Department. The text message read, “This is Carroll County Sheriff’s Department. We are trying to inform you that harassment charges have been filed by Mrs. Cheynne Rogers. Any further contact with your ex-wife is prohibited. You will be served papers and have a no-contact order in effect.” Rogers is in no way affiliated with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department. A warrant for arrest was issued for Criminal Impersonation, and he was taken to Carroll County Jail.
