Multiple Charges — Derek Tyler Grooms, 28, of 28180 Broad Street, Hollow Rock, was arrested on multiple charges during a Jan. 21 incident at his residence.

According to the report by Deputy Dakota Meier, he responded to a domestic call at Grooms’ address at around 10 p.m., and, upon arrival, he observed Grooms pounding on the front door and screaming to be let inside. When Meier addressed Grooms, Grooms moved aggressively in his direction and verbally threatened to kill the deputy. Meier noted Grooms had blood on the side of his head. Meier pulled his Taser gun, but did not fire it at that time. Grooms walked away from Meier and into a side yard. Meier went to the residence and advised those inside to stay in the home with the doors locked. Two other deputies arrived at the scene, and Grooms was located in a nearby horse pasture. Grooms shouted verbal threats at the deputies as they approached and started walking toward them. After warning Grooms to stop or he would be Tased, Deputy Cody Walker deployed his Taser gun, but it failed to penetrate Grooms’ outer layer of clothing. Grooms then grabbed onto Walker’s taser gun and struck the deputy in the face. All three deputies then wrestled Grooms to the ground and placed him in handcuffs. EMS was called to the scene to treat Grooms for a cut to his ear sustained prior to deputies’ arrival at the scene, but Grooms refused medical treatment. Others there at that residence told deputies that Grooms had come home in an intoxicated state, tried to break down the door, and made verbal threats to kill people at the residence.

Dogs Running Loose — Heather Perez, 35, of 535 Springhill Church Road, Huntingdon, was cited for allowing animals to run at large on Jan. 20.

According to the report by Deputy Jason Walker, a resident on Springhill Church Road contacted the Sheriff’s Office and reported Perez’s dogs were on his property. Walker noted that Perez has been warned several times to not let her dogs run loose.

Simple Assault — William Henry Hollowell, 39, of 130 Drew Court, Huntingdon, was charged with simple assault following a Jan. 23 incident at a Cedar Grove residence.

According to the report by Deputy Cody Walker, deputies responded to a call about an altercation at around 9:15 p.m. at a residence on Highway 70. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with Hollowell and a male resident, who said that Hollowell attacked him and tried to strike him with his fists. When asked about it, Hollowell told deputies that he did not remember what happened.
