Aggravated Assault — Nicholas James West, 41, of Zionsville Indiana was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following a March 20 shooting incident near McKenzie.
According to the report by Deputy Townes, he responded to the intersection of Rochell Road and Highway 22 regarding a call about a vehicle being shot multiple times. Upon arrival, Townes spoke with Jolene Shaltis and Dennis Wright, who said that West fired five shots into the engine of their car and then drove off toward McKenzie. Shaltis said that she and Wright had been following West in order to talk to him about an incident involving Wright’s girlfriend. Shaltis said that at one point they got West to stop, and when they got out to talk to him, he rolled down his window and started shooting toward their Toyota Prius, hitting it five times. Deputies later located West parked at the entrance to a field off Veterans Drive in Huntingdon. Two firearms and 800 rounds of ammunition were found in West’s possession.
Stolen Vehicle — Deputies are investigating the recent theft of a vehicle from private property near Bruceton.
Lawrance Vetrone, Jr. told deputies on March 23 that his 2018 Polaris Razor was stolen from his front yard on Roundhouse. Vetrone described the vehicle as blue and white with tower speakers and black front wheels and white back wheels. The vehicle was valued at $25,000.
Scam — Deputies are looking into a recent scam involving the loss of money.
According to the report by Deputy Jackie Wallace, a bank official with the Johnsonville TVA Credit Union contacted the Sheriff’s Department on March 25 and notified them that a customer, who is a Bruceton resident, had been the victim of a scam. The victim told Wallace that an individual claiming to be a drug enforcement agent from Maryland called him, said that he had a warrant out of Texas, and instructed him to withdraw $15,000 in cash and ship the money via UPS to an Illinois address. The victim said that he did as instructed. Wallace noted that the package was picked up at a UPS center under the name Castillo Simon, but there was no video evidence showing the person picking up the package.
Trespassing — Denise Christina Arnold, 40, of 41 Church Street, McLemoresville, was charged with aggravated criminal trespassing following a March 21 incident in McLemoresville.
According to the report by Deputy Cody Walker, he responded to a call about a home invasion at a Main Street residence. A female resident told Walker that she was asleep when Arnold walked into her home without permission. Arnold was transported to the Carroll County Jail.

Drug Charges — Drew Logan Autry, 27, of 4452 Ephesus Church Road, Hollow Rock, was arrested on drug charges following a domestic incident on March 20.
According to the report by Deputy Kenny Tucker, deputies responded to 4620 Ephesus Church Road after Autry’s grandmother, Debra Williams, called the Sheriff’s Department regarding her grandson. Williams told deputies that they got into a verbal argument about Autry spraying and using ether inside her home, and, at one point, Autry tried to stab his uncle with a chainsaw file and then left and started walking down Pardue Road.
Upon arrival, deputies found Autry and his uncle engaged in a verbal argument. Tucker noted that Autry smelled of ether, was acting very nervous, and was attempting to walk away. Before being searched by deputies, Autry said he had a small amount of marijuana in his possession.
During their search of Autry, deputies found a small glass container containing a substance the tested positive for methamphetamine, a glass pipe containing a small amount of marijuana, a small knife, a glass container of a liquid believed to be ether, numerous plastic baggies, and small metal containers with old coins and jewelry in them.
Vandalism — Deputies are looking into the recent vandalism of two school buses parked along Highway 70 in Cedar Grove.
Deputy Frank McGee reported on March 20 that someone shot out four windows on the two buses with a BB\pellet gun from a vehicle. Damage was estimated at $1,400.
Domestic Assault — Houston T. Wilkes Jr., 47, of 20590 Highway 114 South, Hollow Rock was charged with domestic assault following a March 20 domestic incident at his residence.
According to the report by Eric Sawyers, deputies went to Wilkes’ residence after receiving a call wanting them to check on a female at the residence. Upon arrival, deputies could hear a male arguing with a female as they knocked on the door. After being unable to get anyone to come to the door and having reason to fear for the female’s safety, deputies forced entry into the residence and made contact with a female resident, whose face was visibly battered and bruised. She told deputies that Wilkes had fled out a back window. Deputies found Wilkes hiding behind a neighbor’s garage and took him into custody.
