Theft — Jamie Lee Garrison, 42, of 7510 Highway 104 West, Cedar Grove, was recently charged with theft from a motor vehicle.

According to the report by Deputy Michael Smith, Lindsey Smith told deputies on July 28 she recently returned from an out-of-town trip and found that various parts had been stolen from her car that had been parked at her residence on Old Stage Road. She said the stereo, battery, and catalytic converter were all missing and that a jack had been left under the vehicle. She told the deputy a man had been seen working under the hood of her car. Later, while passing by Garrison’s residence, Deputy Smith noticed Garrison was working on a truck. After stopping to speak with Garrison, the deputy noticed parts meeting the description of the stolen items in the back of the truck. When asked about the items, Garrison told the deputy that he bought the parts from another person who had taken the parts off Lindsey Smith’s car.

Drug Paraphernalia — Shane K. Westphal, 26, of Martin was charged with drug paraphernalia violations on Aug. 6 near Trezevant.

Deputy Christopher Adams reported he found Westphal sleeping in a vehicle parked in a field on Big Buck Road. Westphal showed Adams three glass pipes used for smoking narcotics that had been in the console. Adams also found a marijuana grinder in the glove box. Westphal told Adams that he had been living in his car for about three weeks.

DUI — Ashley Michelle Powell, 31, of 7765 Highway 105, Trezevant, was charged with DUI by Deputy Cody Walker following an Aug. 7 traffic stop on Highway 105.

Walker reported he pulled over a vehicle driven by Powell after observing the vehicle swerve across the center line several times. While speaking with Powell, Walker detected the odor of alcohol, and when asked about it, Powell said she had consumed one beer. Powell performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and after Powell agreed to take a breath test, she was transported to the Carroll County Jail, where the test was administered. The results showed Powell’s blood-alcohol level was above the legal limit.

Firearm Stolen — Deputies are looking into the recent theft of a firearm from a vehicle near Bruceton.

Lori Martin told deputies on Aug. 8 that a nine-millimeter Smith & Wesson handgun valued at $400 and $50 in ammunition turned up missing from her vehicle after being involved in a traffic accident on Aug. 7. She said she had kept the gun and ammo in a bag on the floorboard behind the driver’s seat.

Drug Possession — Alicia Renee Farrar, 37, of 28910 Broad Street, Hollow Rock, was charged with possession of schedule I during a July 30 traffic stop on Buena Vista Road.

Deputy Cody Walker reported he pulled over a while sedan driven by Farrar after observing the vehicle cross over the center line numerous times in a short distance. After getting Farrar’s permission to search the vehicle, he found a plastic baggie containing around .2 grams of a substance believed to be heroin in Farrar’s purse.

Drugs, License Charges — Terry Thomas Brown, 56, of 2745 Ephesus Church Road, Hollow Rock, was charged with possession of schedule II and driving on a revoked license (third offense) during an Aug. 11 traffic stop near Bruceton.

Deputy Michael Smith reported he pulled over a green Dodge truck driven by Brown because he had prior knowledge that Brown had an active warrant against him. A computer check showed that Brown’s license was revoked, and brown was found to be in possession of a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
