Shooting Hunger Hosts Annual Sporting Clays Shooting Event

West Tennessee Fundraising Event to Benefit Regional Food Banks

Posted

HUNTINGDON — Shooting Hunger, an annual fundraising event that helps feed hungry Tennesseans through regional food banks, hosts its fourth annual sporting clays shooting event at Carroll County Shooting Sports Park in Huntingdon on Friday, June 26. The event is 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and supports feeding hungry Tennesseans through regional food banks.
2020 has brought unprecedented hardships—through COVID-19 and the tornadoes—to many communities throughout Tennessee, and regional food banks are feeling the pressure. This event will help feed our neighbors who have unexpectedly turned to food banks for support in recent months.
Registration starts at $110 per single shooter or $500 per five-person team, and the event will feature:
-Five person shooting teams at multiple stations
-Fun games, flight prizes for teams and high overall shooters and door prizes
-Lunch provided by Tyson-Obion County Complex

-Commemorative 2020 event knife auction
-Safety talks
“With COVID-19, many have lost jobs and have turned to food banks for help - something they never imagined having to do, “ said Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation’s Director of Membership, Bryan Wright. “When combined with the tornadoes and other weather events, much of Tennessee is in a disarray and making the difficult choice about either buying food or paying bills. We want them to know Tennessee agriculture is here to help them and to provide food for them in any way that we can.”
Shooting Hunger is an outdoor event and is taking the proper precautions to adhere to Governor Lee’s executive orders. There will be hand sanitizer and masks available on site, and shooters and attendees will be able to socially distance on the day of the event. Signage will also be displayed throughout the event to encourage social distancing.
The Shooting Hunger event is hosted by Tennessee Farm Bureau, Farm Credit Mid-America and Tennessee Farmers Coop who to-date have raised money that has provided over 1.5 million meals to those that are hungry.
