One Dies, One Injured After Shooting in Henry County

PARIS (September 27) — One person is dead and another remains in a Nashville hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds.

According to a press release from the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, a 911 call came in around 9:40 a.m. Monday stating two people were in the roadway of the 6000 block of the Old Paris-Murray Road. The report indicated the two were bleeding.

Upon arrival, officers determined the two individuals were Lonzie W. Dunlap, III, 30, and Kristen D. Warren, 39, both of Henry County. Dunlap and Warren were found lying at the rear of a vehicle and appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds. Both were airlifted to a medical facility in Nashville.

Lonzie W. Dunlap, III was pronounced dead upon arrival in Nashville. The initial investigation has found no evidence of other persons being involved in the incident. At this time, the incident is believed to be a result of a domestic dispute between Dunlap and Warren. The incident is under investigation.
