Soccer McKenzie Advances To Region Title Game, Huntingdon Falls in Region Semifinal.

MEMPHIS – McKenzie’s Lady Rebel Soccer team made the trip to Memphis to play Sheffield in the Region Semifinals and came away with a 3-2 victory. Allie Walker, Hannah Lee, and Anna Claire Patel scored goals while goalie Katie Chesser recorded 6 saves during the game. The Lady Rebels will travel to Martin Thursday, October 20 to play the Westview Lady Chargers for the Region Championship. Win or lose, they have already qualified for the sectionals on Saturday, October 22. If they defeat Westview, the sectional game will be at McKenzie. If they lose, they will travel to the Region 8 winner between Crosstown and Lakeland Prep.

The Huntingdon Fillies Soccer team hit the road on Tuesday, October 18 to Adamsville for a Region 6 semifinal match. The Fillies lost a hard fought 1-0 game ending their season. Goalie Ashlyn Rich had 13 saves during the contest which ended Huntingdon’s season. The Fillies soccer team has only existed for two years and they have successfully qualified for post season play both years.
