Super Drugs sustained minor damage on Thursday, April 10 during a brief severe weather event when the awning detached from its supports and was impaled on a fire hydrant, barricading the entrance to the building and partially protruding into the traffic flow on Cedar Street. McKenzie Police and Fire quickly responded to the scene and lifted the awning off the fire hydrant and out of the street. No injuries were reported.
The National Weather Service forecast rated the severity of the weather event as a “slight risk” or 2 out of 5. Weather Underground indicated that the max wind gusts on Thursday were up to 37 mph.
