McKENZIE (April 1) — Trudi’s Place has reopened in downtown McKenzie in a new location. Trudi Bannister held her grand opening on Friday, April 1 inside McKenzie City Florist, 2281 Cedar Avenue. The date marked the fourth anniversary of the florist, owned by Michele Jarrett. She and her late husband, David, opened April 1, 2018, their dream business that includes a coffee shop, florist, ice cream, and gifts.

Trudi is offering a meat and three lunch 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the bakery is opened 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

She and husband, Wayne Bannister, along with Misty Glissen and Alyssa Roberts operate the business.

One of her customers’ favorites is chicken salad croissant and ham and turkey club. She also serves soups.

Trudi started baking in the year 2001 and catered events. She opened Trudi’s Place in the former McElhiney’s building on Cedar Street, and closed in 2016. Now she returns her food service business to downtown.

Trudi also worked as an expanded dental assistant for forty years.

McKenzie Chamber of Commerce, city officials, and area business people and friends welcomed Trudi back to downtown with the ribbon cutting ceremony.
