Wildcats Sweep Four Game Series with UPIKE

McKENZIE — The Bethel Wildcats completed a four-game sweep of the UPIKE Bears with two wins Sunday at the Khalden Complex in McKenzie. Bethel won Saturday’s games 4-3 and 9-4.

Bethel won Sunday 12-0 and 8-0.

Bethel won game one in five innings. Bethel scored four runs in the first inning, three in the second, two in the third and three in the fourth.

In game one, the Cats pounded out 12 hits while Maddie Locke picked up the win with a three-hit shutout. Seven different players had hits for Bethel. Six different Cats drove in runs.

Maria Murdaugh had a triple, a double and drove in two runs. Kayla Gillespie scored three runs and drove in a run. Melanie Alexander scored twice and had two hits. Brittney Minor had two hits and had two RBI’s. Kirsten Eversole scored two runs and drove in a run. Gillian Grahn drove in a run. Alexis Wheeler had two hits and had an RBI. Alexa Thrasher drove in a run.

The second game was also a five-inning affair. Bethel scored four runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Bethel outhit the Bears 7-2.

Kalani Kuroda homered and drove in three runs. Alexander had three RBI’s. Kennedy Gillespie and Thrasher drove in single runs.

Madison Haught pitched a complete game two-hitter.

Bethel moved to 8-2 overall and 4-0 in the MSC. UPIKE dropped to 3-7 and 0-4.
