McKENZIE, TENN. - Funeral services for Corene Elizabeth Bennett are Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Huntingdon. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 14, 2023, at the funeral home, 5 - 8 p.m. and Saturday, 12 p.m. until the service time at the church. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
Mrs. Bennett, 100 years old, died Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at AHC McKenzie.
She was born in McKenzie on September 22, 1922, to Elzie and Mattie Hall Woodard. She worked at ITT in Milan and was a homemaker. She was a Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Huntingdon member, where she taught Sunday school and played the piano and organ.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Marvin) Newman of McKenzie, Jimmy (Peggy) Bennett, Carolyn Seavers, Donald (Vickie) Bennett and Angela (Britt) Jackson, thirteen grandchildren Nina (Jeff) Owen, Amanda (John) Oakley, Carey(Heather) Newman, Joseph (Stefanie) Newman, Randall Bennett, Brian (Holly) Bennett, Sarah Morris, Terri ( Joe) Norvell, Bryce Jackson, Chace Jackson, Jennifer (Chris) Stewart, Jill ( Matt) Connell, Julie (Brandon) Sims, twenty nine great grandchildren Rachel(Damon) Hardy, Mark (Lauren) Newman, Zach (Riley) Newman, Maggie Owen, Claire Owen, Laura (Nathan) Couch, Aaron (KaLeighn) Oakley, Cameron Oakley, Libby Oakley, Will Newman, Andrew Newman, Henry Newman, Juliet Newman, Graham Newman, Austin (Niki) Bennett, Luke Bennett, Lilly Bennett, Rhett Morris, Porter Morris, Dereck (Amber) Seavers, Kyle (Kelsey) Seavers, Delaina (Brandon) Merrell, Kayla ( Matthew) Chandler, Ainsley Stewart, Ian Stewart, Andrew Connell, Aubrey Connell, Halle Sims and Cameron Sims and twelve great-great grandchildren Ava Newman, Maddie Hardy, Nori Newman, Mary Drew Couch, Matti Bennett, Andi Bennett, Kendall Seavers, Graham Seavers, Maci Seavers, Kase Seavers, Avery Grace Chandler and Tucker Chandler.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Max Bennett, a daughter, Judith Anne Bennett, three grandchildren, Rusty Newman, Ronald Seavers and Matt Bennett, one great-grandson, Sam Owen, and a sister, Louise Woodard Rich.
