Mrs. Hazel “Inez” Baker, 84 of Huntingdon, Tennessee, died Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services are Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 11 a.m.. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Long Rock Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Monday from 5 to  8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Baker was born January 27, 1939, in Bells, Tennessee, to the late Reginald and Tennie Maie (Scammerhorn) Richards. She was an office clerk for the Publix Shirt Factory. She was preceded in death by one son, Gene Scott Baker.

Gene and Inez enjoyed many years of travel after retirement, having visited all 50 states in their RV. They also enjoyed many fun days of fishing at their river cabin. Gene and Inez were charter members at Eastview Baptist Church where they helped with the building and design of the church. She was the church pianist. She loved the little grandkids and enjoyed buying things for them on her trips.  

She is survived by her husband of husband of 49 years, Gene Baker, children Susan (Joe) Gallimore, of Camden, and Monte (Brenda) Childress of Huntingdon, a brother, Clyde Richards (Peggy) of Milan. She also leaves three grandchildren, Layce Abbott (Johnny), Melanie Jackson (Matthew), China Love Powers (Curt), and five great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Jaxon, Ryley, Zander, and Kallen.
