McKENZIE, Tenn. - Funeral services for James Chester Bostic are Friday, April 14, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 13, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Friday morning, 9 a.m. until service time. The interment is at Mt Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie.

Mr. Bostic, 89, died Sunday, April 9, 2023 at his son’s home in Valdosta, Georgia. Mr. Bostic was born in Coleman, Kentucky on May 1, 1933 to Charlie Jerome and Virdie Varney Bostic. He is a Korean War Army veteran and was a quality control inspector for General Motors.

He is survived by his sons, James Michael Bostic of McKenzie, Roy David (Susan) Bostic of Valdosta, Georgia and Charles Richard Bostic of Gleason, six grandchildren, Stephanie Bostic, Roy Eric Bostic, Kyle David Bostic, Amber Carter, and Lauren Bostic, 17 great-grandchildren, his siblings, Mae Petite, Charlene Adkins, Linda Bostic, Betty Stevens, Beulah Adkins, Jean Adkins, Bruce Bostic and Kenneth Bostic.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Emma Jean Bostic, son, John Anthony Bostic, granddaughter, Ashley Bostic, siblings, Goldie Edwards, Barbara Adkins, and Bob Bostic.
