1950-60s McKenzie High Alumni Reunion is Huge Success

McKENZIE (September 20) — 45 graduates of McKenzie High School from the 1950s and 1960s gathered for a casual reunion at the fellowship hall of First United Methodist Church in downtown McKenzie Saturday morning as part of the McKenzie High School Alumni Association Decades Reunion weekend.

Refreshments and time to reconnect with friends from their days at McKenzie High were enjoyed by all.

Special thanks to the many volunteer members of the MHSAA who helped decorate the venue as well prepare and serve food, and to FUMC for hosting the event.

Barbara Clark of the MHS Class of 1952 was the earliest graduate in attendance. A retired school teacher at Henry County High School, she began her career at MHS in the early 1960s and taught many of the alumni who were in attendance.
Nola Hobbs was the sole attendee from the McKenzie High School Class of 1955, celebrating the 70th anniversary of her graduation.

HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — The legacy of the late actor Hal Holbrook has been immortalized in a new oil portrait, unveiled Wednesday, August 19, at the Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center. The painting, created by artist and former art professor Lindon Noe, now hangs in the Center, serving as a companion piece to an existing portrait of Holbrook’s wife, the late Dixie Carter-Holbrook.
