Rebels Open Season with Nail-Biting Win Over Lions

McKENZIE (August 8) — McKenzie Middle School hosted Dresden to open the football season Thursday. After a quick touchdown by the Lions, the Rebels pulled ahead by a dozen three separate times only to see Dresden climb back each time. After a wild fourth quarter, McKenzie held on for a 32-28 victory.

McKenzie Hosts Middle School Football Jamboree

McKENZIE (August 3) - McKenzie Middle School hosted its annual preseason football jamboree Saturday at Randy Thomas Field with 18 teams participating in ten total contests.

MURFREESBORO (May 24) — After four days of intense action that included weather delays and a round-robin of venues, the Huntingdon Mustangs and Fillies claimed state runner-up titles in baseball and softball for Class 2A. In a double-elimination format, both teams made it to Friday’s round unscathed.
The TSSAA Spring Fling was more than baseball and softball. Two Huntingdon students competed at the state level in track and field during the week.
Six local high school baseball and softball teams are headed to Murfreesboro this week to participate in the TSSAA State Championship Series. McKenzie Rebels Baseball, Huntingdon Mustangs Baseball, Huntingdon Fillies Softball, Hollow Rock-Bruceton Lady Tigers Softball, Westview Lady Chargers Softball and Henry County Lady Patriots Softball will take the field Tuesday afternoon in the double elimination tournament.
