250 Years of Tennesseans Shaping America
From the May 12, 2026 e-EditionPARKERS CROSSROADS — Get ready to celebrate a quarter-millennium of Volunteer State impact! The Parkers Crossroads Battlefield Association and Beaver Elementary School are hosting a special community event on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon, to honor 250 years of Tennesseans shaping America.
The free event is at the Activities Building, 150 Federal Lane, Parkers Crossroads.
The celebration offers a unique look at Tennessee's rich historical heritage.
Highlights include student-created displays showcasing the contributions of notable Tennesseans throughout history. Additionally, visitors can step back in time at the McPeake Cabin (Tour Stop 7) to experience demonstrations and interpretations of life in a historic dog-trot log cabin.
This educational event aims to inspire students, families, and the public by fostering a deeper appreciation for Tennessee's pivotal role in the nation's story. The event is free and open to all.
