Advanced Master Beef Course to be held in Carroll County
From the Feb 9, 2021 e-EditionThe University of Tennessee Extension Service-Carroll County is offering the Advanced Master Beef Producer Program in Carroll County Saturday, February 27 and Saturday, March 13.
The February 27 meeting is at the Exhibit Building at the Carroll County Fairgrounds. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with the program starting at 9 a.m. The meeting adjourns by 4 p.m.
The March 13 meeting is at the Southwestern Stockyard in Huntingdon. Program begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 4 p.m.. Lunch will be provided both days. Cost to participate is $100 per participant. This includes snacks, meals, program materials, a cap and sign. Social distancing measures and COVID guidelines will be in place both days.
Topics include the following; Herd Health- Dr. Lew Strickland, UT Extension Vet. Specialist, Forages, Nutrition- Dr. Katie Mason, UT Extension Beef Cattle Nutritionist, Meats, Beef Industry Issues- Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Risk Price Protection- Dr. Maples and Dr. Mitchell, UT Extension Economics, Genetics- Dr. David Lalman, Oklahoma State University, Freezer Beef, Cost and Considerations, and BQA Certification.
