From the Jan 7, 2025 e-EditionMcKENZIE, Tenn. - Funeral Services for Barbara Joyce Ferguson are on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie.
Mrs. Ferguson, 86, died at Volunteer Hospital, Martin, on Thursday, January 2, 2025. She retired from Super Drugs McKenzie.She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
She was born in Goodlettsville, Tenn., on November 19, 1938, to John Thomas Kemper, Sr. and Isabelle Lassiter Kemper.
She is survived by two sons, David Ferguson (Melinda) and Mike Ferguson (Lori), all of McKenzie, a brother, John T. Kemper Jr “Bud” of Lexington, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Andi Harrington (Travis), Heather Robertson (Frank) and Amanda Ninness (Alan) and five great-grandchildren, Callie, Case, Gracie, Alicyn and Aubry.
Her parents, her husband, Franklin D. Ferguson, and brother, Bill Kemper, preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to St. Jude or her church, Fairview Baptist Church.
