From the Feb 18, 2025 e-EditionMrs. Betty Forbess, 79, of Huntingdon, Tennessee, died Friday, February 14, 2025, at Cherrywood Nursing Home in McKenzie.
Funeral services are Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Atkins officiating.
The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Monday from 5 PM until 7:00 PM and Tuesday from 11:00 AM until time of the service.
Mrs. Forbess was born January 27, 1946, in Fulton, Kentucky, to the late Edward W. Robbins and Odelle (Rogers) Robbins. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Kirk Maddox. She began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse, later becoming a registered nurse and also earned her masters in Nursing. Mrs. Forbess was a nurse for forty-two years and was employed by the State of Tennessee when she retired. After retiring, she and Larry enjoyed traveling and spending time together. They spent every winter together in Gulf Shores. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Forbess, a daughter, Angie Forbess Maddox (husband Matt), a son, Ryan Forbess (wife Michelle) all of Huntingdon, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Adam Maddox (wife Michelle); Ethan Maddox, Wyatt Forbess and Grace Forbess, and two great-grandchildren, Gavin Maddox and Juliet Maddox.
