Blackburn Inducted into USA/ASA Tennessee Hall of Fame

LEBANON (August 1) — Greg Blackburn of McKenzie was inducted Saturday into the USA Softball/Amateur Softball Association (ASA) Tennessee Hall of Fame for his 35-year career as coach/sponsor of the Jean Shoppe men's slow pitch softball team, which yielded ten world tournament wins and 30 state tournament wins.

Also inducted were two of Blackburn's former players, Craig Harris and Buddy Majors. Harris was originally from Memphis and Majors from McMinnville, and Blackburn recruited them when they were students at Bethel College.

Blackburn has previously been inducted into the Independent Sports Association (ISA) National Hall of Fame, the National Softball Association (NSA) Hall of Fame and the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Hall of Fame.

He told The Banner, "I want all my players to know that I'm really thankful for what they've done for me to get these accolades. I couldn't have done it without them."
