Boo Bash is Thursday
From the Oct 21, 2025 e-EditionMcKenzie’s twelfth-annual Boo Bash is Thursday. The Halloween event, sponsored by Bethel University and the City of McKenzie, is on Thursday, October 23, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in downtown McKenzie.
This year, the festivities include trunk-or-treating, bouncy houses, a cake walk, a costume contest, a “Best Trunk” contest, haunted train rides and a “Bail-Me-Out!” fundraiser.
Each year, Myra Carlock at Bethel University works with McKenzie City Recorder Jennifer Waldrup to create the annual event that attracts hundreds of children plus their parents from throughout the area.
The Bethel students truly enjoy the event and interacting with the children of the community. The students will decorate their trunks and they also dress in costume to celebrate the occasion.
Children can receive free candy from the many Bethel groups and McKenzians.
Downtown streets will be closed for safety. McKenzie’s police and fire departments will also have a presence during the event.
