Candidates Can Pick Up Petitions In December for May 2026 Primary

CARROLL COUNTY — Candidates interested in seeking public office in Carroll County can participate in their political party’s primary held on May 5, 2026.

The first day to pick up a petition at the Election Commission office is December 22 for the Thursday, February 19 qualifying deadline for both the party primary and as an independent candidate.

The offices in the primary include:

May 5, 2026 County Primary Election

County Offices:

Circuit Court Clerk, 1 position

County Mayor, 1 position

Assessor of Property, 1 position

County Clerk, 1 position

Trustee, 1 position

Register of Deeds, 1 position

County Sheriff, 1 position

Road Supervisor, 1 position

County Commission: Districts 1 – 9, all positions

County Board of Education: Districts 1 – 3, 3 positions

Special School Districts:

Hollow Rock-Bruceton: Dist. 15, 1 position; Dist. 16 Bruceton, 1 position; Dist. 16 At Large, 1 position; Dist. 16 Hollow Rock City (2 yr unexpired), 1 position

Huntingdon: At Large, 2 positions

McKenzie: At Large, 4 positions

South Carroll: At Large, 2 positions

West Carroll: Old County, 1 position; Old Atwood, 1 position; Old Trezevant, 1 position.
