Carroll County Sheriff Reports
From the Aug 12, 2025 e-EditionLarceny — On August 1, Timothy Crotzen reported to the Carroll County Sheriff’s office that he thought he had purchased a 2019 Kia Stinger GT from Robin Marshall of Gonzales, Louisiana, through Facebook Marketplace. He has sent over 2,700 dollars through Chime. He has spoken with the lady who he believes to be Robin, and she said she would refund his money, but she has not since she never delivered the Stinger. It appears that this is a scam, and someone stole her information to receive the money.
DUI — On August 3, Deputy Thomas reported he was traveling in Atwood when he observed a vehicle swerving throughout lanes. He initiated a stop and encountered the driver, Elquin Aulio Perez, 26, of Medina, who did not speak English. An odor of alcohol came from him, and he did poorly on the tests. He was arrested and transported to Carroll County Jail.
Stolen Property — On August 3, deputies were dispatched to Leach Road about a theft that occurred at the residence. A victim had held a party and then noticed the next day that over $56,000 worth of jewelry was gone. This is still an ongoing investigation.
Aggravated Assault — On August 7, the Carroll County Sheriff’s office was dispatched to Wortham Loop in Huntingdon regarding Coutney Wortham, 27, of Huntingdon, breaking into the residence without consent from the homeowner, Beford Forrest Wortham III. Mr. Wortham stated that when he woke up, he saw Coutrney in his residence and stated that she had stolen items out of his house. When he confronted Coutrney, she sprayed him with “Pepper Power Bear Deterrent” spray. Deputies found Courtney at the edge of a cornfield near the residence. She stated that “I would have sprayed him with mace but I ran out so I used my bear spray.” And “He knows I steal gas out of his boat, and he doesn’t care.” She was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, and theft.
