The caller, later identified as the suspect’s grandmother, reported her grandson was “going crazy” before the call disconnected. When officers arrived, Dillingham came out of the home, yelling and threatening officers. Deputies initially believed he was holding a weapon, but it was later determined to be a phone.
Dillingham then ran back into the house. When deputies forced entry into the residence, Dillingham attempted to strike Deputy Williams and resisted arrest. During the struggle, a dog bit Deputy Williams, causing a laceration to his arm. Sergeant Mike Smith also sustained an injury to his hand.
Dillingham was eventually subdued and taken into custody. While on scene, deputies discovered a pool of blood inside the house and later found four dead dogs outside the residence. Family members advised that Dillingham had killed the animals in the days prior.
