HUNTINGDON (February 11) — Board-certified pulmonologist Dr. James Carruth has joined Baptist Medical Group at Baptist Medical Group-Carroll County Pulmonology at 641 R.B. Wilson Drive in Huntingdon.

Carruth, recognized as an expert in respiratory and pulmonary medicine, has worked in West Tennessee since 1996. He will work closely with Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County and local providers to treat respiratory conditions, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, chronic cough, shortness of breath and other lung conditions.

"It is our pleasure to welcome Dr. Carruth to the Baptist Medical Group team in Huntingdon," said Amy Campbell, clinic manager at Baptist Medical Group. "His expertise and familiarity with the region make him uniquely qualified to care for our community and bring specialty lung care close to home."

Carruth has held multiple leadership positions, including serving as director of respiratory therapy for Henry County Medical Center and chief of staff for Regional Hospital of Jackson. From 1996 until 2019, Carruth had his own medical practice — Pulmonary Medicine Clinic in Jackson — and, most recently, he provided pulmonology services for Henry County Medical Center/Paris Pulmonary Clinic in Paris.
