Charlotte Irene Dalton, 66, died on June 25, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral Services were Thursday, July 2, 2026, in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home.  Pastor Chris Pipkin Sr. officiating. Interment was at Humbles Cemetery. 

Born on September 6, 1959, Charlotte was the daughter of Sherman Robert Lee Dalton and Alma Jo Dalton, who both preceded her in death. She attended and graduated from McKenzie High School. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age, and her faith remained a source of strength throughout her life. During her early life she was a member of Clark Street Baptist Church where she served as an usher. Most recently she was a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Trezvant TN, where she was a faithful member until her death.

Charlotte was known for her feisty personality, stubborn determination, and loving heart. She spoke her mind, stood her ground, and loved her family fiercely. Those who knew her will remember her strength, her resilience, and the unforgettable spirit that made her truly one of a kind.

She is survived by her son, Jamal Dalton; daughter-in-law, Shelby Dalton; grandchildren, Kylan, Jalil, Americus, and Marley Dalton; bonus grandchildren, Raelynn Mashburn, Davante Arnold, and Sierra Arnold; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlotte is also survived by her siblings, Bridgette Sessons, Rachel McHaney, Chiffon McKinnie, Virginia Carver, Amelia Dalton, Tunesia (Carlos) Sample, Robert Dalton, and Michael Dalton; one aunt, Mildred Yarbrough; one uncle, John David (Barbara) Williams; one great-aunt, Willie Sue Gordon; and a host of beloved cousins.
