From the Jul 7, 2026 e-Edition
CLARKSBURG (July 7) — Renee Maynard is the new Clarksburg Elementary principal, the South Carroll Special School District announced Tuesday.
Maynard brings 32 years of experience in education and a proven record of leading a successful PK-8 school, according to the school district.
"It is both an honor and a privilege to join the Clarksburg School family as the new elementary principal," Maynard said. "I firmly believe that a quality education opens doors and provides the foundation for lifelong success. When students know they are loved, supported and believed in, they are empowered to achieve great things.
Maynard expressed her excitement to partner with parents and the Clarksburg community while celebrating student successes, overcoming challenges and building a school culture where everyone feels welcomed, respected and valued.
Clarksburg School enters a new chapter this school year with the creation of two distinct academic communities: a PK–8 division and a high school division. This new structure is designed to provide a unified, focused learning environment that supports the unique needs of students at every stage of their educational journey.
"I am excited to welcome Mrs. Maynard to our leadership team," said South Carroll Special School District Director of Schools Dr. Lisa Norris. "Her experience, dedication to instructional excellence, and commitment to students, teachers, and families make her an outstanding addition to Clarksburg School. We look forward to the positive impact she will have as we continue building on the strong traditions of 'The 'Burg' while preparing every student for a bright and successful future."
