McKENZIE, Tenn. — Danny Joe Beal, 72, died Friday, June 26, 2026, at Carrolton of Fayetteville in North Carolina following a brief illness. A native of McKenzie, Tennessee, Danny was a 1972 graduate of McKenzie High School and remained a resident of the community he loved.
Danny was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Paulette Yocom Beal; his son, Michael Dean Beal; and his parents, Joe and Nettie Marie Beal.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Logan Simoes Beal and Grace Simoes Beal, both of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and his dear friend, Patricia Simoes Beal, also of Fayetteville. His stepchildren, Edward James of McKenzie, Matthew James of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and Kellie Gray of St. Joseph, Tenn.
Danny also leaves behind several cousins, including Michael Beal of Needham, Indiana, Sue Fryling of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Martha Wells (Tim) of Flat Rock, Michigan, and Betty Hindman of St. Petersburg, Florida.
A graveside service for the burial of his ashes will be conducted at Fairview Cemetery in Loretto, Tennessee. The service is Monday, August 3, 2026, at 12 p.m., where family and friends will gather to honor his memory.
