Mr. Donald “Duck” Mitchell, 82, of Huntingdon, Tennessee, died Friday, January 23, 2026, at his home.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
Mr. Mitchell was born April 9, 1943, in Camden, Tennessee, to the late Gilbert Mitchell and Lucille Hedge Mitchell. Many of his friends and family knew him as “Duck”, a nickname given to him as a child. He worked as a mechanic and in production at Leroy Somer. He was a preacher and song leader at Calvary Baptist Church, a member of the Gospelaires, a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wilburn Mitchell (Yvonne Mitchell).
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Mitchell, two daughters, Tiffany Hill (Edward) of Huntingdon, Tammy Brandon (Spence) of Medina, a sister-in-law, Yvonne Mitchell, of Vale, five grandchildren, Hannah Ball (Scotty), Haley Longmire (Blake), Hunter Hill, Savannah Brandon, Seth Brandon, and three great-grandchildren, Bentley, Kinsley, and Hudson.
