Dresden Claims 48-6 Victory Over Gleason

GLEASON (September 12) — Cross-county rivals Gleason Bulldogs (1-3) and Dresden (2-2) battled for bragging rights in Class 1A football on Friday. The teams played head-to-head during the first quarter. Dresden pulled ahead with a score and a PAT with 38 seconds remaining in the quarter. Cooper Allman scored and Valdimar Pederson made the PAT.
At the 9:15 mark in the second quarter, Dresden’s Cooper Allman again scored and Pederson added the PAT for a score of 14-0. Aiden Carrington bumped the score with a touchdown and the Dresden Lions led 27-0 at the 2:44 mark in the second quarter. The PAT was missed making the score of 27-0 at the half.
Gleason came out strong in the second half with a touchdown by Gage Byington. The extra point failed, and the score stood at 27-6 with 11:36 remaining in the third quarter.
Dresden struck again at the 8:34 mark on a touchdown by DiPietro followed by a TD by Ayden Flora to make the score 41-6.
Elliott Stafford, Jr. added the final TD for the Lions. The PAT made the final score 48-6.
Gleason travels to Lake County on September 19. Game time is 7 p.m.
