Fillies Sweep Westview, Mustangs Fall

McKENZIE (April 9) — Huntingdon High School hosted Westview Thursday for district tennis matches at Bethel University's courts. The host Fillies swept the Lady Chargers, 7-0, while the Chargers swept the Mustangs, 7-0.
In girls' singles, Huntingdon's Jazmine Seiber defeated Westview's Ryne Roney (8-6). MK Stevens bested Cami Carlson (8-1). Celeste Perez topped Ella Hamlin (8-2). Lila Reed defeated Audri Dowdy (8-1). Madisyn Barton bested Kaylynn Pearce (8-0). In exhibition, Kensley Rich topped Jade Moody (8-2).
In girls' doubles, Fillies duo Seiber and Stevens defeated Roney and Dowdy (8-6) and Perez and Reed bested Carlson and Pearce (8-0). In exhibition, Fillies Mandie Hodge and Maria Barreto de Vicente defeated Moody and McKensie Babb (8-4).
In boys' singles, Charger Alistair Braddock defeated Mustang Shawn Simpson (tiebreaker, 7-5). Dylan Parker bested Alijah Hastings (8-1). Isaac Ostenson topped Caden Cargile (8-1). Carter Peevyhouse defeated Kyle Byrd (8-2). Cameron Norwood bested Eli Hayes (8-2).
In boys' doubles, Westview duo Braddock and Parker defeated Hastings and Cargile (8-0) and Ostenson and Peevyhouse topped Byrd and Hayes (8-2).
