McKenzie Firefighters Assist Elementary Reading Program

McKENZIE (October 6) — McKenzie Elementary School hosts frequent reading nights at the MES Library. Librarian Jill Wilson opens the library during these reading nights.
On October 6, firefighters from McKenzie Fire Department assisted. Along with Fire Pup, firefighters greeted MES students and offered to read to the students.
Upcoming reading nights are October 27, November 10, December 1, and December 8 in the year 2025.

New Portrait of Hal Holbrook Unveiled at The Dixie PAC
HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — The legacy of the late actor Hal Holbrook has been immortalized in a new oil portrait, unveiled Wednesday, August 19, at the Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center. The painting, created by artist and former art professor Lindon Noe, now hangs in the Center, serving as a companion piece to an existing portrait of Holbrook’s wife, the late Dixie Carter-Holbrook.
