Genia Sherwood's School of Dance Presents "Growing Stars"

McKENZIE (May 16) — Genia Sherwood's School of Dance presented its annual recital "Growing Stars" Saturday afternoon in the Bouldin Auditorium of Bethel University's Dickey Fine Arts Building.

Ten classes performed 32 routines, including several solo dances by advanced students.

The Advanced II Class included Yaretzi Gonzalez, Marley Crews, John Patterson, Hadley Smith, Addi Davis and Claire Kee.

The Advanced I Class included Harper McCall, Courtney Sanders, Natalie Tidwell, Sophie Price, Katelyn Martin, Zoey Neville and Elizabeth Miller.

The Intermediate II Class included Maggie Nell Merrick, Emilee Harris, McKenna Sherwood, Macie Cate Roberts, Vera Tippitt, Mia Walker, Emma Allen, Avacyn Latham, Ava Walker and Lina Haywood.

The Intermediate I Class included Hazel Tippitt, Lydia Walker, Olivia Neville, Kaylynn Barrett, Aimee Harris, Bryleigh Barrett and Raegan Tedford.

The Fourth Grade Class included Penny Crockett, Hadli Laman, Kenslee Geare, Allison Padilla, Meghan Strop, Elizabeth Thomas, Bella Smith, LilyAnn Wolski and Jazzlyn Carroll.

The Third Grade Class included Lennon Haywood, Itzel Gonzalez, Abbi Hudgins, Saylor McCall, Charli Mann, Oshyn Taylor, Mary Poff, Nola Fox Aldridge, Maggie Rose Garrett and Korra Sevieri.

The Second Grade Class included Everly Longmire, Ruthie Kee, Grace Brewer, Nora Foster, Harper Gail Waddell, Caroline Campbell, Scarlett McReynolds and Briar Sutton.

The First Grade Class included Della Tippitt, Lillian Kirk, Ansley Boyd, Amina Brown, Amelia Brown, Emersyn Langley, Cora Tippitt, Adelyn Kee, Ella Kate Lowe, Kylie Satterfield, Harmony Jones, Sarah Jane Ezell and Molly Huckaba.

The Kindergarten Class included Collyns Simpson, Fernanda Hernandez, Lorilei Dillahunty, Rainie Beth Brewer, Harper Moore, Eloisa Middlebrooks, Allison Easley, Naomi Osborne, Remy Wolfe, Mary Mae Holt, Kali Keech, Vannyah Boyd and Penelope Peachey.

The Pre-K Class included Brynlee Duncan, Lainee Brown, Allie Manns, Tenley Russell, Collins Petering, Elsie Kee, Hazel Scallan, Sophie Sellers, Janie Wallace and Layla Kirk.

Following the performances, instructor LaTisha Karnes presented five-year awards to Penny Crockett, Emilee Harris, Hadli Laman, Charli Mann, Scarlett McReynolds, Mary Poff, Meghan Strop and Maggie Nell Merrick and ten-year awards to Katelyn Martin, Zoey Neville, John Patterson and Sophie Price.

Karnes also recognized student teachers Aimee Harris, Claire Kee, Avacyn Latham, Katelyn Martin, Zoey Neville, Sophie Price, Courtney Sanders, Vera Tippitt and Lina Haywood.
