Genia Sherwood's School of Dance Presents 'Jumpin' Jukebox'

McKENZIE (May 17) — Genia Sherwood's School of Dance presented its annual recital "Jumpin' Jukebox" Saturday afternoon in the Bouldin Auditorium of Bethel University's Dickey Fine Arts Building.
Nine classes performed 29 routines, including several solo dances by advanced students.
The High School Class included Yaretzi Gonzalez, Hadley Smith, Marley Crews, Delta Baker, Olivia-Kay Pate, Addi Davis and Claire Kee.
The Seventh-Eighth Grade Class included Harper McCall, Katelyn Martin, Natalie Tidwell, Courtney Sanders, Zoey Neville, Kaidy Smith, John Patterson, Elizabeth Miller and Sophie Price.
The Fifth-Sixth Grade Class included McKenna Sherwood, Mia Walker, Macie Cate Roberts, Vera Tippitt, Emma Allen, Lina Haywood, Ava Walker, Emilee Harris, Avacyn Latham and Maggie Nell Merrick.
The Fourth Grade Class included Olivia Neville, Lydia Walker, Hazel Tippitt, Aimee Harris, Bryleigh Barrett and Kaylynn Barrett.
The Third Grade Class included Penny Crockett, Bella Losby, Meghan Strop, Hannah Tippitt, Everly Williams, LilyAnn Wolski, Hadli Laman, Allison Padilla, Elizabeth Thomas, Jaeliana Toler and Jazzlyn Carroll.
The Second Grade Class included Abbi Hudgins, Oshyn Taylor, Maggie Rose Garrett, Saylor McCall, Itzel Gonzalez, Mary Poff, Charli Mann and Lennon Haywood.
The First Grade Class included Zowey Norden, Harper Gail Waddell, Scarlett McReynolds, Andie Allen, Everly Longmire, Aurora Flinchum, Dani Flinchum and Emerie Burleson.
The Kindergarten Class included Della Tippitt, Emma Langley, Caroline Campbell, Kylie Satterfield, Lillian Kirk, Cora Tippitt, Ella Kate Lowe, Amelia Brown, Amina Brown, Sarah Jane Ezell and Neely-Kay Wilson.
The Pre-K Class included Allison Easley, Callie Hatcher, Vivian Hartz, Rainie Beth Brewer, Fernanda Hernandez, Hazel Eads, Matti Bennett, Aurora Statton, Mary Mae Holt, Harper Moore, Cora Eads and Demi Russell.
Following the performances, instructor LaTisha Karnes presented five-year awards to Bella Losby and Kaidy Smith and a ten-year award to Olivia-Kay Pate.

New Portrait of Hal Holbrook Unveiled at The Dixie PAC
HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — The legacy of the late actor Hal Holbrook has been immortalized in a new oil portrait, unveiled Wednesday, August 19, at the Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center. The painting, created by artist and former art professor Lindon Noe, now hangs in the Center, serving as a companion piece to an existing portrait of Holbrook’s wife, the late Dixie Carter-Holbrook.
