Gerald (Jerry) L. Spain

Mr. Spain was born on April 12, 1947, in Milan, Tenn. He married Martha Presson Spain on May 29, 1970. He retired from Dura Automotive after working in Quality Control for over 30 years. Growing up in Milan, he was an avid baseball player and, as an adult, a slow-pitch softball player and coach. He helped coach Little League and Babe Ruth in McKenzie. He was a member of First Baptist Church of McKenzie.

 

Survivors include his wife, Martha Presson Spain of McKenzie. A son, Jeremy (Erin) Spain of Lavinia, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Melanie (Matthew) Wilson of Humboldt, Tenn., Allison Herren of Humboldt TN. Amanda Smith of McLemoresville, Tenn., Mary Smith of McLemoresville, Tenn. Tyler King of Humboldt, TN. Elissa King of Lavinia, TN. Two great-grandchildren, Harper Wilson of Humboldt, Tenn., Chloe Rimmer of Dyersburg, Tenn., and one niece, Tanya Spain of Bradford, Tenn.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Hilma Spain; brother, David Spain, and a nephew, Dusty Spain.
