Girls' Region Basketball Tournaments Begin Friday
From the Mar 3, 2026 e-Edition
UPDATED FOR SCHEDULE CHANGE: The Hollow Rock-Bruceton Lady Tigers now play their Friday game at Wayne County at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. The Tigers will play immediately following that game instead of on Saturday.
Girls region basketball tournaments tip off Friday, February 27.
Friday's first-round games are hosted at the higher seed. The remainder of each region's tournament is played at a single location, with semifinals on Monday, March 2 and championships on Wednesday, March 4.
The first round (quarterfinal) and second round (semifinal) are elimination games.
Each region champion and runner-up advance to a sectional contest on Saturday, March 7, hosted by the champions. Runners-up travel to face the champion of an adjacent region.
For each classification in Division I, eight sectional winners advance to the TSSAA state championship tournaments.
