Gleason School Receives Yard of the Month

Gleason School is the City of Gleason's August Yard of the Month. Gleason Mayor Charles Anderson presented the award to Principal Lee Lawrence recently in recognition of the many community and school initiatives to maintain and improve the school property.

Gleason School has completed many improvement projects over the summer including the excavation and addition of a new sidewalk on Championship Drive, installation of a half basketball court on the school playground, elimination of a harsh speed bump at the gym entrance, installation of new “orange and black” parking bumpers and parking stripes on Championship Drive, landscape improvements including shrub and tree trimming, and front door security decals.

"These improvements are keeping our school heritage strong for the future," the City of Gleason said. "Please drive by or visit to see for yourself what grassroots in Gleason efforts can accomplish."

Gleason School thanked its many community partners who helped make the school's improvements possible. All who contribute to the Gleason Downtown Projects fund, which helps to complete the school's ongoing renovation projects, will have their names emblazoned on sponsorship signage at Gleason School. Interested sponsors are encouraged to speak with Luke Hughes at Bank of Gleason, Mayor Charles Anderson at Gleason City Hall or Lee Lawrence at Gleason School.
