Henry County Inmate Captured After Leaving Work Detail

PARIS (September 2) — A Henry County Jail inmate was returned to custody Wednesday morning after authorities said he walked away from an assigned work detail, prompting a search and request for assistance from the public.
Kodie Hensley reportedly left his work detail at approximately 7 a.m. in the area of County Home Road and the Highway 218 Bypass in Henry County. At the time he left, Hensley was reportedly wearing a long-sleeve blue T-shirt and jeans.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office alerted the public and requested assistance locating Hensley.
Authorities later announced Hensley had been captured and returned to custody. The Sheriff’s Office thanked members of the public for their assistance in the search.
Hensley was serving time in the Henry County Jail for violation of probation stemming from drug charges.
Following Wednesday’s incident, Hensley was charged with escape and is being held without bond.
