Heritage Festival is September 19

The Huntingdon Heritage Festival returns to downtown Huntingdon on Saturday, September 19, 2026, bringing a full day of free family entertainment, local shopping, food, arts and activities, and live music to the community.

Designed as a celebration of the people, businesses, organizations and traditions that make Huntingdon and Carroll County special, the annual festival offers something for all ages, with activities beginning early Saturday morning and continuing throughout the day.

The day kicks off with the Heritage Hustle 5K, with registration at 7 a.m. and the race beginning at 8 a.m. from the City Hall parking lot. Other morning activities include St. Jude’s Car Show registration from 8-10 a.m. and mini pottery workshops at Mudslingers Pottery Studio.

Beginning at 1 p.m., the festival comes to life throughout downtown with vendors opening for shopping, a variety of family activities and attractions, and numerous events taking place at businesses and community venues throughout Huntingdon. The Kids Zone at the Police Department parking lot will offer face painting, two magic shows and balloon animals, while visitors can also enjoy ISTEA train rides, the Andy Griffith Show Marathon, Carroll Arts Storytellers, the Huntingdon Historical Museum, Practical Magic 2 and more. The Dixie Carter PAC Ballroom Gallery will also host the Summer Sessions Student Artwork Exhibit and an artist reception from 2-3 p.m.

The festival's CB&T Main Stage will take over the afternoon and evening with a lineup of live music, and lawn chairs are welcome. The afternoon will begin with an Opening Ceremony from 4-4:30 p.m., featuring recognition of Citizen of the Year Ronnie Breeden and the Pioneer Family, the Bennett Family. Live music will follow at 4:45 p.m. with Mayce Mitchell, followed by Grace Gunn at 5:30 p.m. and 24 Seven at 6:30 p.m. Headlining the evening, The SteelDrivers will take the stage at 8 p.m. for a bluegrass performance running through 9:30 p.m.

Festival organizers also remind visitors that road closures will begin at 6 a.m. Saturday morning around Court Square and surrounding side streets. Attendees are encouraged to plan accordingly and allow extra time when traveling into downtown. A golf cart will be available to assist guests who need transportation from the parking area to the event. Once parked, please call 731-986-5310 for assistance.
