Authorities Investigate Homicide in Henry County
From the Jun 9, 2026 e-EditionBUCHANAN, Tenn. — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) have launched a homicide investigation after a 49-year-old woman was found dead Friday at a residence in Buchanan. The victim, identified as Angela Claxton, was discovered on June 5, 2026, at 245 Cay Lawrence Road.
According to Sheriff Josh Frey, the death is being treated as suspicious and remains an active investigation. Claxton’s body has been transported to the medical examiner in Nashville for further examination. No further details regarding the cause of death have been released at this time.
Investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying potential leads. Residents in the vicinity of Cay Lawrence Road, Buchanan Road, and Cowpath Road are urged to review security camera footage for any vehicles, motorcycles, or other means of transportation captured between 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, and Thursday, June 4.
Authorities are also asking anyone who may have traveled through these areas during the specified timeframe and encountered other vehicles to contact investigators. Information can be reported to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 731-642-1672 (option #7) or the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND. Investigators are available to visit residences to review any footage found by the public.
