Huntingdon CDBG Meeting is January 7
From the Dec 30, 2025 e-EditionHUNTINGDON (December 23) — Huntingdon Mayor Chad Edwards announced the Town of Huntingdon will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Huntingdon City Hall, 19810 East Main Street. The purpose of this meeting is to present information to the public on the fiscal year 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Concerned citizens are encouraged to attend and comment on possible activities.
The CDBG grant program is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and administered by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. Last year, 44 communities received CDBG grants, totaling $26.5 million statewide, to assist with their infrastructure and beautification efforts.
The allocation of CDBG funds is based on priorities set through the public meeting process at the local community level. Funds are available for water and sewer improvements, health and safety projects and other improvements to enhance the quality of life in Tennessee’s rural communities.
Persons with disabilities requiring special accommodations to attend the meeting should contact Kim Carter at (731) 986-2900.
