Huntingdon Singing Duo Earns Second Place at Beta Nationals

ORLANDO (June 22-26) — Two Huntingdon High School Beta Club members wowed audiences at the National Beta Convention to earn second place in Performing Arts: Solo/Duo/Trio Vocal Performance.
Tylan Johnson, a 2025 HHS graduate, and Claudia Cooper, current HHS student, earned a spot in nationals competition with a second place finish at the state convention earlier this year.
The duo performed “You are the Reason” by Calum Scott and Leona Lewis in their finalist performance at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center.
The overwhelming response has led the pair to continue singing together. Their music can be found on Facebook (Tylan Johnson and Claudia Cooper) and Tik Tok (t_c.music). Their first Tik Tok performance, “Don’t Mind if I Do” by Riley Green and Ella Langley had over 115,000 views as of Monday, August 4.

New Portrait of Hal Holbrook Unveiled at The Dixie PAC
HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — The legacy of the late actor Hal Holbrook has been immortalized in a new oil portrait, unveiled Wednesday, August 19, at the Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center. The painting, created by artist and former art professor Lindon Noe, now hangs in the Center, serving as a companion piece to an existing portrait of Holbrook’s wife, the late Dixie Carter-Holbrook.
