Huntingdon Middle Mustangs Cage Lions

Mustang running back Cohen Gray scored 28 points of the Mustangs 38 Thursday night in a 38-0 win over Camden for homecoming. Gray ran for 126 yards on seven carries, scored four touchdowns, added two conversions runs. Gray, as the Mustangs improve to 3-0 for the season, has 482 yards on the ground in those three games.

The Mustangs had a season low 214 yards on the ground but took advantage of a short field and field position. The Mustangs started their first four possessions inside Lion territory as they started at the Lion 26, 48, 16, and 46 in the first half and scored on all four possessions.

The first score came on a 22-yard run by Gray and the Mustangs led early 6-0 after the conversion failed. The Mustangs second score came on a 38-yard run by Gray to cap off a three-play 48-yard drive. Gray added the conversion run and the Mustangs led 14-0 after one quarter.

The Mustangs scored for the third time early in the second quarter on a 13-yard run by Gray with 6:39 left in the half. Bryce Maddox added the conversion run and the score rose to 22-0. The Mustangs final score of the first half came with 1:43 left in the second when Gray sprinted 33 yards to paydirt. Gray also scored on the conversion to give the Mustangs a 30-0 lead at the half.

The Mustangs’ final score of the night came with 6:20 left in the game as Knox White scored from a yard out. Brilyn Ford ran in the conversion for the final score of 38-0.

The Mustangs held Camden to 41 yards rushing on the ground and 5-12 passing for three yards in the game. Ford had a big game for the Mustangs as he ran for 69 yards in the game and White added 23 yards along with his touchdown run.

The Mustangs now 3-0 for the season, travel to Milan this Thursday as they face the Bulldogs for a 6:30 kickoff.
