Huntingdon Schools Awarded $548,000 Through USDA Technology Grant
From the Apr 7, 2026 e-EditionHuntingdon Special School District, through a partnership with other Carroll County school districts, has been awarded the Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT) grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
The total grant allocation of $975,823 has been awarded to participating districts in Carroll County through a nationally competitive process.
Of the total allocation, Huntingdon SSD has been awarded up to $548,000 to enhance the learning environment for students and staff. Grant funds will be designated toward purchasing large-screen interactive displays and computers.
According to Huntingdon SSD Technology Supervisor Scott Carter, “It is vital we continue to invest in technology that will promote student engagement in the classroom.”
The grant requires a local match, and Huntingdon SSD is committed to investing $71,514 to fulfill the match requirement.
According to Director of Schools Dr. Jonathan Kee, “We are thankful to receive this grant to support our technology needs. We appreciate South Carroll Special School District for submitting the grant application in collaboration with the other participating districts.”
