From the Jan 21, 2025 e-EditionPARIS, Tenn. - Jacque I. Veazey, 95, of Paris, Tenn., died January 13, 2025, at Plumley Rehabilitation Center in Paris.
Mrs. Veazey was born February 23, 1929, in Dyer County, Tenn., to the late E.D. Ing and Dollie Sorrell.
She was married April 26, 1952, to her husband of 63 years, Carl Ross Veazey. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2015.
Jacque was most proud of her three children, who all survive: Duke (Lucretia) Veazey of Puryear, TN, Stan (Amy) Veazey of Paris, TN, and Sissy (Rick) Lowe of Paris, TN. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family members.
Jacque was a longtime educator for the Paris Special School District. She took great pride in being able to work with her students for 27 years, all who touched her heart in a special way. She was a longtime member of Paris First United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Walker Cemetery in Paris, TN, with Rev. Joy Weathersbee and Brian Ross Wimberley officiaitng.
Because of her love and support of children, the family requests that memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the charity of your choice.
