From the Nov 26, 2024 e-EditionHUNTINGDON, Tenn.. - Mr. James Elma Holmes, 87 of Huntingdon, died Sunday, November 17, 2024 at West Tennessee Transitional Care.
Funeral services were Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Holmes was born January 29, 1937 to the late Lallie Ellen Cannon and Charlie Oscar Holmes. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mrs. Mary Jo Holmes and brothers, Arthur Mitchell Holmes, Charles Cannon Holmes and Aaron Glover Holmes.
Mr. Holmes was a member of Cool Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He retired as manager at Wolf Creek Oil.
He is survived by two daughters, Vicki Myers of Huntingdon, Tennessee and Phyllis (Bob) Todd of Jackson, Tennessee; three grandchildren, James (Michelle) Myers, Emily Myers and Eric (Brooke) Todd; great-grandchildren, Noah Myers, Cole Myers, Shea Myers, Natalie Todd and Olivia Todd.
