Jean Birdwell

BRUCETON, Tenn. — Mrs. Jean Birdwell, 82, of Bruceton, Tennessee, died Monday, October 12, 2026, at Lifecare Center in Bruceton.

Funeral services were in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Friday at 2:00 PM, with Bro. Steve Davis officiating. Interment was in Hebron Cemetery.

Mrs. Birdwell was born July 7, 1944, in Camden, to the late John Weathers, Sr. and Ruby Mae Matlock Weathers. She retired from Henry I. Siegal. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Hollow Rock. She loved gardening and cooking for her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward Harvey Birdwell, Sr., brothers, John Logan Weathers, Jr., Roy Lee Weathers, sister, Linnie Sieber, and daughters, Betty Jean Birdwell and Janice Birdwell.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Birdwell Dixon (Kenneth) of Bruceton, four sons, Edward Earl Birdwell of Bruceton, John Wayne Birdwell of Hollow Rock, Edward H. Birdwell, Jr. (Stacey) of McKenzie, and Darren Lee Birdwell (Lisa) of Bruceton. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Kenny Lee, Kristen, Kyle, Jacob, Dustin, Meagan, and Hunter, as well as twelve great-grandchildren.
